June 2, 2008

As you can see, I swiped the camera back for a day or two to put some pictures on the blog!

Prayer shawl's finished. It came out beautifully....but I put it in the dryer for a few minutes of high heat to germ-proof it since it's going to someone with a compromised immune system---the fringe "poofed". Not pleased, but don't see any options as it had to have the high heat. The fringe is simple slip-knots, so it could be redone when the germ issue resolves (or if the recipient doesn't like the fringe). Oops and oh well. It's one of the gifts that's been done with much love and prayer and I have no idea if it will be loved or a white elephant!

Well, this blogging is always an adventure. Trying to figure out how to move the pictures and put titles under the picture (not happening yet). Hmmm....suppose I'll eventually get better!

These were taken as we were setting up but I think we eventually had 150-200 people at the all-church function. We only do food gatherings two times a year, so this is a pretty big deal. I actually spent 6 hours outdoors (absolutely a record since I hate heat, bugs and crowds). Came home with a little sunburn and a major allergy attack, but it was worth it as we spent the whole day visitng with friends. We took fruit, veggies, a confetti salad and a spinach salad so come home with too much left over---last year, they ran out of food, so everyone went overboard this year.

Heather and Spencer spent their day in Urgent Care and the hospital's lab getting George assessed and tested....bloodwork and stool samples trying to figure out what's wrong. He doesn't have a fever, but is still pretty sick. Doctor seemed concerned about his electrolytes because of all the GI stuff. Lab work won't be back for a day or two, but prayers appreciated. Heather has something now (with fever) and is having to deal with kids that aren't feeling so hot at the same time. Doctor thought it was unlikely to be a virus and more likely on of the intestinal issues like c. diff, e. coli or giardia. Whatever it is, it's not nice and now we can all worry about where it came from.

Guess I'm done with this rainbow-hued trivia stuff---hope you all have a great day!

I am sorry I missed the picnic. It looks like it was alot of fun.

I would take the fringe back off and find a way to knot each one at the end so it won't come undone for her... Just a thought.

Love lots.
