I see this isn't a very complimentary shot of my fishtank from the back with all the cords...oh well. It is a nice shot of my African violets, though. The biggest one just finished blooming with almost 30 blooms! I've had it the whole three and a half years and it is huge. Unfortunately, over the years, it's lost foliage and seems to be mostly bloom. Do you like the little critter on the rim of the planter?
I'm having a nice morning--business has been slow, so Rog has agreed to let me stay home and do laundry and knit this morning (Karen and I have a baby gift project we're working on in tandem). I'll go to the office this afternoon and help with the end-of-the-week-rush and finishing the filing.
Our Netflix player arrived and was connected yesterday. It allows 'streaming' the instant watching portion of our Netflix account directly to our tv---LOVE IT! There are 10,000 titles available. It's not as good as cable or satellite, but it's a darn sight better than nothing! It turns out our one remaining tv channel is Channel 24---that's all the reception we have now that the satellites are both disconnected. Perhaps not so fun, but saving lots of money. The Netflix player is about $100, but it's a one-time fee with no monthly fees. We have unlimited viewing and also unlimited DVD's through the mail.
George is finally feeling better...but Heather's under the weather with the bug now. Everyone vastly relieved that it didn't turn out to be e. coli or giardia.
The Weight Watchers project is coming along. I'm losing at about half the speed of friend Karen---but have lost almost eight pounds in a bit over a month. Slower than I would like, but at least forward (or should I say downward) momentum. I try not to think about ALL there is to lose and am just trying to stay focused on losing a little bit at a time. It appears that the weight loss is tied to the actual AMOUNT of food consumed....i.e. a day high in cucumbers, carrots and supposedly "free" foods results in a much slower loss. A day with smaller amounts of food that are higher in points (like hamburgers) results in faster loss. Got me. Doesn't make sense, but it's sure more fun to eat hamburgers than cucumber, so guess I'll live it up!
Hope you have a great day. We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you. Colossians 1:3.
