Well, we're off to the start of another week.
I've decided to volunteer at a Veteran's Hospital across from Doc's office one day a week. This is advanced planning for retirement or, if and when, a move out of California becomes necessary. I am not volunteering in nursing (they don't have volunteer nurses), but in the administration end of things. Since I'm a major paper-pusher, this is a good thing. The biggest fly in the ointment has been clothing....I own scrubs, jeans and t-shirt type tops and major dress-up clothes. Unfortunately, I need in-between business clothes. Doc got in the garage yesterday and we went through bags of "stuff" and I found three dress blouses. My current plan is to use white slacks, new white shoes and the dressy blouses. Hopefully, this will be okay with them. I'm not anxious to move into a dress shoe since my feet will complain. (The long-range part of this plan is that gov jobs have great benefits---including health insurance. The down side is that the job would be 8-4:30 five days a week---never been a strong suit for me and Doc is needing me at the office. The good side of the plan is that being with him from 4:30 to 6 or 6:30 when he finishes is the major time he needs me).
Today is weigh-in for the three Weight Watchers friends spread across the Western United States. By some strange coincidence, we all have Monday meetings! So far, looks like we're all doing well for just two weeks on the program. It's fun to compare notes, suggestions and problems (we have one in CA, one in ID and one in AK).
Yesterday was a rare day at home (after church) with just lounging around doing little 'projects' and no children! It was hot, so we turned on the A/C and closed the drapes and semi-hibernated. Doc spent most of his day trying to deal with the upcoming dilema of what to do about our TV. Right now, we spent a little over $100 a month on basic cable (local), DSL and our home phone bill. We're trying to stop the basic cable ($30) on July 1st when it expires. Doc tried rabbit ears, changing all the wires between the tv, dvd and vcr and even tried both the Direct TV and Disk satellite dishes to see if he can get anything to come in without the cable. The sad news is that he was able to get channel 7 (ABC) and channel 9 (PBS)...both come in-and-out with a blue screen upon occasion. I'm not wanting to go so low on tv we can't even get the news.
We tried watching a tv program on the computer (I was shocked that several of the programs we really like are available on-line), but that won't solve the news issue. The computer wasn't happy and we had to reload and be aggravated over and over---took almost 1.5 hours to watch NCIS on the computer. Bah humbug! Another complication is that our tv was purchased in 2002 and is analog---if we WERE able to get something to come in....it won't receive after 2/09 without a converter box!
I'm trying to figure out how to add pictures to the blog...much more interesting!....here goes:

Good try, next time drag the picture to the bottom after you load it. Other then that you did good.
You can also highlight the picture and then hit the left, right or center align button (that you would normally use for text) and it will move your picture, left, right or center.
