March 15, 2009 Blockhead Two

Here's blockhead number two (the applique class). I've finished the sewing basics and fused the fabrics...now I'm starting the applique. The detail on this one is a lot smaller than last time, so it should be interesting. If you click on the picture, blogger will blow it up big enough to see.
I've spent most of my weekend putting my first pieced quilt together (with stops, starts and boo-boos). I'm not counting Anna's baby doll blanket the first real quilt. This one is a birthday gift for someone, so I won't put pictures up until after they've received their present.
There are two classes left on the pieced quilt....two more weeks to put the batting, backing and bind it and quilt the whole thing. It's not a large quilt, but I'm having a lot of fun and learning tons (the hard way, of course).
I'm happy to report that Paul (Karen's hubby) is doing well after this latest by-pass. It's been a totally different experience than his last one, thankfully. He and Karen are in Las Vegas while he recovers. Thanks for those of you who have been praying for them.
Well, now that I've blogged a little, I'm going to go back and start doing the applique work on this second blockhead (there are 10 blocks to go to be done over the next year).
