Block One Pioneer Quilt - Still missing the beige square in the middle, but you get the idea. Class was pretty difficult, but I'm hoping things get easier as the weeks go on...this doesn't appear to have been a good choice for my first class, but ooops and oh well.

My homework this week is to cut out the second block with subcuts and have it ready to assemble next week.....more difficult than it sounds because I start recaps tomorrow. Today will be only day to accomplish this feat as it definitely requires strong daylight and can't be done at night. I've already learned that my "light" was directional with subtle little lines and I have to be really careful to have them going the correct direction (I'm not going to fix this block). Nobody but me will even be able to see it, I suspect.

I can't say I love the design, but I do love the fabrics so I'm optimistic it will come out nice in the end. It's a twin-sized top with 12 foot square blocks and some additional sashing and borders. I don't have a twin bed so I'm not sure where it's original destination will land.

I had no idea that cutting needs to be so precise---even a repeated mistake of 1/32 of an inch off on things will lead to a disaster when assembling the quilt.

Rog and I were able to recover part of his table at the office and file a small claims case against a patient who took money she had been reimbursed for Roger's services and ran yesterday. Clogged up our day pretty much but it felt nice to have accomplished these two major tasks.

I'm happy to report AnnaBell's MRI is finally scheduled for 1/20 at 1p for those of you who pray for me and mine. They pretty much put her to sleep, so we're all nervous about it. Her neurologist is looking to rule out cerebral palsy, stroke and some other brain stuff since nobody's ever taken a look at her brain. She is talking, but her speech isn't up to par....her comprehension is great and we can tell what she's wanting between the speech and signing but it would be good to have this test behind us.

Im off to MD for a checkup. My recaps hit tomorrow (my major burst of working at my employer's each month). It will last four or five days and pretty much knock out everything else. My friend, Karen, from Alaska and her husband, Paul, arrive this weekend to visit for a week or so (I'm so excited).
