September 2, 2008

We heard that Turtle Bay actually lost some structures in this fire a couple days ago. Pretty cool pic of the glass-bottomed bridge, though. Hopefully, they didn't lose any of the museum buildings. I know the bridge is okay.

I actually went to a knitting get-together today (rare for me as I'm something of a hermit). It was about eight women here at LC meeting at the club house from 9-12. I enjoyed it. Some were knitting, some were crocheting and we even had one working in wool/embroidery. Lots of laughing and light-hearted visiting. They meet twice a month. They plan to meet for an hour on the 16th, then drive to town to have a nice lunch together and go to the local yarn shop (which I haven't even been able to find!). I learned to play "golf" (cards), too. They play that every Monday night for $2 for the evening.

We found a used Sun Setting (awning) for Heather and Spencer's house today, too. Another project for Papa to take on...but it will provide 20' x 9' shade for the kids to play out the back door that they don't have now. Another of the Lord's blessings as the price was terrific.

Rog has installed little blue lights out on the deck---we're the envy of the neighbors since nobody has this beautiful blue color. My clever husband cut up plastic school folders and did an insert inside the light sleeve to dim the lights so we didn't feel we're on stage when we go out there at night. He's having to figure out how to make the tall orange solar lights hooked up the same way now so that they can be blue, too.

It's been a great four days off. Hope all of you had fun, too.

Hi Joy! I finally decided to check out your blog, and it's very pretty! We've played golf too, and it's one of my favorite card games. Once we played with about 10 people, two decks and I won! We discovered there's more than one way to play too.
