Good friends, Ed and Kelli Compean with their son, Jackson, were able to spend a couple of days with us while home on furlough from Nairobi, Kenya. Ed took Heather's and Spencer's wedding pictures (10 years ago....Wow!). He was a photographer for a local paper then and we all attended Calvary Chapel Ventura.
Ed and Kelli have become "church" planters for Calvary International and Ed Pastors a small church in a slum.
We learned some amazing things about Nairobi (i.e. elevation 5,000 ft., on the equator, population of about 5 million people) and were very touched to hear specifics about their ministry.
Their daughter has just graduated from High School and is working Alaska this summer before starting to attend UC Santa Barbara next semester. Lots of big changes for the whole family to have as the first little birdie leaves the nest.
